Why can't the reform include a change in the fact that if you close a credit card account it will lower your credit score. Many credit card companies are no longer affraid of consumers closing accounts because they know it will lower credit scores. I paid off one credit card because they were going to raise the rates to 20%, but they refused to take the yearly fee away. The just kept saying that I could close the account if I didn't want a yearly fee.
