10 Arguments Against Paying Taxes (that will not work)

In honor of Tax Day, here is a list of 10 arguments against paying taxes from one of my favorite sites, Mental Floss. See the article for more information and entertainment.

1. Taxes are “voluntary”
2. Compensation is not income
3. Taxes in America aren’t for Americans
4. (Paper) Money isn’t legal tender
5. I am not a citizen
6. “The U.S.” only includes federal land
7. Individuals aren’t people
8. My religion doesn’t believe in taxes
9. I plead the Fifth
10. Taxes are slavery

• A flat tax of 11% of ALL Americans would bring in more money to the government that they are bringing in today – but of course we would tick off a ton of liberals who now reside in their parents’ basements. But at this point if something is not done to reign in spending and taxes we will all be living there.

• we all have to pay taxes. However, there realy is no law that says you have to pay personal income taxes

• I wish that were the case, but 26 U.S.C. § 1 imposes taxes.

• I’ve been filing online for past 6 years with turbo tax, they guide you through it and then check for possible errors.

• I did the exact opposite and had been on TurboTax for the last six years, and for the last two years, my brother had joined me. The first year that I did his tax, he was shocked that he got a bigger return than the professionals he had been going to.

• Absolutely Correct! People need to educate yourselfs and not get scammed. I reccomend http://howigotmyselfoutofdebt.org They have a lot of insightful info you can use to protect yourself. How to get out of Debt as well they have a lot of articles that can help you out.
