Even Generals Need Bathroom Breaks: How Do You Prepare For Events?

General David Patraeus fainted from dehydration during a Congressional hearing yesterday. He apparently just flew in from Jordan and London, and didn’t drink too much water on his return so he wouldn’t require bathroom breaks during the hearing.
I’m sure he is mortified, not only to have fainted, but for everyone to be talking about his need for bathroom breaks. Some pundits are even correlating his collapse with the collapse of US policy in Afganistan.
What do you do to prepare for a presentation? What makes you comfortable? How do you minimize the distractions or manage your human needs during an important event?
